The practice is registered and complies with the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018). Any request for access to notes by a patient, patient’s representative or outside body will be dealt with in accordance with the Act. Please contact the Practice Manager for further information.
All patients are entitled to request copies of their medical records. The first request will be free of charge but any further requests will be charged at the discretion of the Practice.
Please be aware all requests for records creates extra work for admin staff and the doctors. Each set of notes needs to be printed and stamped by admin and then reviewed by a GP before being released. This takes time out of clinical practice and in turn can reduce access to appointment for other patients.
Please try and be specific about exactly what part of your record you need i.e.. a certain timeframe or certain hospital records, rather than just requesting entire records if this is not necessary.
